When you plan out an engagement session you always hope for the best weather for your clients, but you have to be ready to roll with whatever comes your way.  An overcast day and a downpour equals a very fun, interesting and memorable engagement session.  We love that they were game to play in the rain!  Here's a sneak peek into Kayla & DJ's engagement session.

The scenic view of the country club was the perfect setting for this wedding.  Perfect weather, beautiful couple and tons of family and friends were there to celebrate the union of this special couple.  We hope that you enjoy a sneak peek into their wedding day.

To say that this day was filled with joy and laughter is an understatement.  This was truly a gathering of family and friends that have become like an extended family for Erin & Ryan.  The celebration began early as they both prepared for the ceremony and continued well into the night, with the dance floor rarely finding itself empty.  It was truly a pleasure being able to capture these sentimental and jovial moments.  Their marriage is sure to be filled with lots of laughs and a community of friends supporting them in their faith and keeping their union strong.  Here's a peak into their gallery from their special day.  Congratulations Erin & Ryan -- The Montgomerys!

You never really know what the weather will bring in TX in the fall.  Each day can bring new surprises, but on this day, it was absolutely perfect.  The terrace wedding at the Tribute Golf Course was blanketed with clear skies and warm sun rays.  It was a perfect backdrop to what was to be a beautiful ceremony to celebrate the union of Lauren and James.  Here is a sneak peek into their gallery.

Congratulations to the Woodsons!

Going back to New Orleans to photograph the blessing and union of Mamadou and Brandy brought back memories of my own wedding 15 years ago in this bustling city.  Rich with culture, a-ma-zing food, and music that carries you into the night, New Orleans, affectionately referred to as N'awlins, is a great place to unite and celebrate the blessing of two lives becoming one.  Set in the midst of the McKenna Museum of African American Art, the walls were adorned with images that depicted the impact on the African American culture, telling stories of adversity, unity, victory and creativity of so many dedicated and driven individuals.

Love, laughter and tears filled the atmosphere as family and friends gathered around Mamadou & Brandy in a simple but powerful ceremony to pray over the couple and bless their union.  The celebration would not have been complete without the traditional Cajun & Creole cuisine, tasty treats, an opportunity to showcase the latest dance moves and the iconic second line band to mark the end of the night.  We hope that you enjoy some of the images captured throughout the day.  Many blessings to Mamadou & Brandy!!  Laissez les bon temps rouler!!!

We absolutely loved the playfulness and energy from Erin and Ryan.  It was obvious from our first exchange that this would be a fun engagement session.  We were able to feed off of them and wanted to capture what we're certain is obvious to all who know them--they're kind, caring, full of laughter, attentive and concerned for one another--they just get it.  It's always a joy to work with couples that truly cherish each other and enjoy the journey along the way.  Here's a sneak peek into their session.

In planning out there session, there were several places that we could've ventured to; however there was no better place to photograph them than the place of their engagement.  Klyde Warren Park is full of life and activity and it mirrors their personality.  The area was bustling with activity, which for some could be a hindrance, however from yoga classes, kids playing in the fountains, pet lovers walking their dogs, to the mouth watering smells coming from the food trucks, the place was bustling with people of all ages enjoying the day.  It was a perfect setting for a perfect couple. We took advantage of the unseasonably cool weather, a whopping 85 degrees for TX, and had fun watching them interact with each other and capturing moments for them to cherish. We couldn't resist the opportunity to stop for snow cones as a refreshing end to the session.

We look forward to their wedding in less than two short months away!!

When I saw the engagement announcement on social media, I was beyond elated.  I had the pleasure of meeting this now young lady during her high school years.  Being newly married myself and about to have a daughter of my own, I watched how Lauren and her mom interacted with one another and loved their relationship. I could see for myself that she would grow to be a young woman filled with drive, determination, faith, purpose and integrity.  Any man that would approach her would have to be truly worthy of all that she had to offer and would find himself fortunate and blessed.

Okay so maybe I’m a little biased, but when this cute couple decided that they wanted my partner, Omar, and I to capture the special moments for their big day, I was absolutely honored.  I felt a little old too, but hey, we all get older right!  Not only would I be there to witness their union, along with family and friends, but I would be able to capture these moments for her to cherish for years to come.  I was thrilled.

When we talked with them about what they wanted to capture for their engagement session, we were both excited.  We love it when a bride and groom desire to bring creativity to the session, which allows for us to have fun, showcase their love for one another and make the session truly unique to them.  We loved the setting of downtown Main St. in Grapevine.  With so much to offer in old school charm, it was a perfect play for them and their new school flair.  For a moment it felt as if we had stepped into an editorial shoot for up and coming couples.  Magazine spread ready, they were both on point!

The shoot couldn't be just about showing off their style and love for one another.  It wasn't complete until we captured one of the things that they have in common--fitness.  To say that they have a love for sports, fitness and health would be an understatement.  So, break out the athletic gear and let’s hit the court.

Below are a few images from their engagement session that we couldn’t pass up sharing.

Now…the update is that these two love birds couldn’t wait until October to become Mr. & Mrs. Woodson, but don’t worry, the formal wedding is still on and we can’t wait to showcase them on our blog.

Whether you’re the traditional couple that wants to catch the first glimpse of your bride or groom as they come down the aisle, or the couple that likes to break from the norm and get a sneak peek before everyone else; we’ve found that the same thing holds true for both—the level of nervousness and anticipation is high.   Angela and Tony were no different.   There’s a level of anxiety in all of the planning and last minute preparation with any bride and groom.  Having gotten past the uncertainty of whether or not the Dallas sky would open up, the day turned out to be bright and sunny.   The backdrop of the Dallas Arboretum couldn’t have made a more beautiful setting for the two of them to share their vows in front of family and friends; however before we could get to that part, they chose to take a moment for themselves—their first look.

Escorted by her father, he and Angela walked hand in hand through the Botanical Gardens toward her husband to be as passersby looked on admiring her beauty.

With the help of his brother, Tony anxiously awaited seeing his bride for the first time.  I couldn’t help but smile at his excitement, as he stood there visibly giddy in his own way.  Even after his brother stepped away as the human blindfold, he paused to take in all of her beauty.  Here’s a sneak peek into the day.   Check back to see more images from the day and evening festivities coming soon.

Wedding season is in full swing and venues are filling up their calendars quickly.  If you haven't booked a venue yet, you definitely want to check out this one nestled in the quiet Dallas suburb of Highland Village.  When it comes to photographing weddings we absolutely love opportunities to use natural light and this venue lacks nothing when it comes to that.  An abundance of windows illuminate the property throughout.  Don’t worry though, for evening weddings, the beautiful chandelier and lighting in the chapel provides an intimate feel.  The chapel is simple, yet elegant with a rustic charm.  If you choose to dress it up or leave it as is, this venue is sure to meet your needs.

From the brides suite to the separate sitting room that can be made into a private gathering room for the groom and groomsmen, they’ve definitely designed this venue to provide comfort and class.  The reception area includes a bar area and has a capacity limit of 325.  No worries, for the dance enthusiasts, there’s plenty of room to accommodate your guests and to show off your latest moves on the dance floor.

We absolutely loved photographing at this location.  This is on the top of our list as one of the best places to check out around town for your wedding or event.
